Regular servicing is what keeps a split unit blowing cold instead of just blowing air. In Puchong's climate, dust and humidity clog filters and coils fast, so most homes and offices in this category need work done every few months, not once a year. This page covers the 38 businesses in Puchong offering aircon servicing and chemical wash, from single-unit condo jobs to multi-split commercial contracts.
What this service actually covers
"Servicing" and "chemical wash" get used loosely, so it helps to know the difference before you call anyone:
- General service: filter removal and rinse, coil brush-down, drainage check, gas pressure check, and a water-spray clean of the indoor unit. Quick, cheap, done every 2-3 months for units in heavy use.
- Chemical wash: the indoor unit (and sometimes outdoor coil) is dismantled, soaked in chemical solution, and jet-washed to strip built-up mould, grime, and bacteria that a plain water rinse can't touch. This is what fixes musty smells, weak airflow, and water leaking from the unit. Recommended every 6-12 months, or sooner if you notice odour or reduced cooling.
- Chemical overhaul: a deeper version where the unit is fully taken apart, including the fan blower, for units that haven't been serviced in a long time or have visible mould buildup.
What to look for before booking
Not every technician who shows up with a compressor and a ladder does the job properly. Worth checking:
- Whether the price quoted is per unit or per visit, and whether it covers 1.0HP-1.5HP units or scales up for bigger inverter systems.
- Whether they check and top up refrigerant gas separately, and how that's charged if the unit is low.
- Whether they clean the drainage pipe and check for leaks, not just wipe the visible casing.
- How they handle outdoor unit access for high-rise condos, since this affects both safety and price.
- Whether there's any warranty on the workmanship, even a short one, in case the unit leaks again within days.
How our scoring works
Each of the 38 listings here is scored on the same factors: review volume and rating trend, how consistently the business responds to jobs, breadth of service (general service vs full chemical wash vs installation/repair), and signals of reliability over time rather than a single good month. We rank the full field in the best air conditioning contractors in Puchong guide, and the exact weighting behind every score is laid out on our methodology page, so you can see why one business ranks above another rather than taking it on faith.
