How much does an aircon chemical wash cost in Shah Alam?

Prices vary by unit type and provider. As a rough guide, a normal service for a wall-mounted split unit is often around RM40 to RM80, and a chemical wash is often around RM100 to RM200 per unit. Cassette and ceiling units cost more. Ask for a per-unit quote in writing.

How often should I service my aircon?

Most homes do a normal service every three to four months and a chemical wash about once a year. Heavy use, pets, cooking fumes or nearby construction dust mean you may need it more often.

What should I expect during a chemical wash?

Expect one to two hours per unit. The technician covers the surroundings, removes the front cover, washes the coil and blower with chemical and water, flushes the drain, reassembles and tests cooling. The unit needs time to dry before you switch it on.

How can I tell if the job was done well?

Airflow should be stronger and colder, odours should be gone, and there should be no dripping indoors. A good technician shows before-and-after condition, explains any fault found, and gives a warranty or service record.

A routine aircon service in Shah Alam means a technician cleans the filters, indoor coil, drain tray and outdoor unit, then checks gas pressure, fan operation and drainage. A chemical wash goes further. The indoor unit's cover comes off, the coil and blower wheel are sprayed with cleaning solution and rinsed with water, and the drain line is flushed. It suits units that smell musty, drip, or cool poorly even after a basic clean.

What to look for

A clear quote that says whether it covers a normal service, a chemical wash, or a full overhaul, and how many units.
Plastic sheeting to protect floors and furniture, and a water bucket or bag under the unit while it is washed.
Gas top-ups that are measured and explained, not added by default.
A written warranty on the work, and a technician who will show you the dirty water afterwards.
